PSA Nitrogen Gas Generation Plant
The compressed air is delivered via a Twin Tower PSA module with automatic changeover valves. Activated Alumina is used near the bottom of PSA towers because it has a tendency to absorb moisture from compressed air. The air is dried after travelling over this bed of Activated Alumina. This layer of desiccant (activated alumina) will provide continuous dry compressed air without interruption. A bed of carbon molecular sieves will now come into touch with compressed air that has been dried (CMS). Carbon Molecular Sieves are a type of adsorbent that has the property of adsorbing oxygen molecules preferentially. One tower remains in the nitrogen production cycle at any given moment, while the other undergoes regeneration, which is accomplished by depressurizing the tower to atmospheric pressure. The pneumatic signal provided by the solenoid valve, which in turn receives the electrical signal from the timer provided in the control panel, connects the two towers of PSA modules with automated changeover valves. The time cycle for the changeover will be 1 + 1 minute. With the help of a Backpressure Regulator, the outgoing nitrogen gas is directed to a surge vessel where the minimum nitrogen pressure is maintained. The product nitrogen will now be delivered to the consumer point at the proper pressure using pressure decreasing valves.
